Description
A Kidney Ultrasound is a valuable, non-invasive diagnostic tool that provides detailed images of the kidneys and surrounding structures. It is used to diagnose and monitor conditions such as kidney stones, tumors, cysts, blockages, and kidney disease. A kidney ultrasound is a noninvasive diagnostic exam that produces images, which are used to assess the size, shape, and location of the kidneys. Ultrasound may also be used to assess blood flow to the kidneys. Ultrasound gives rather vague results in diffuse renal diseases such as acute glomerulonephritis, chronic glomerulonephritis, nephrotic syndrome, and nephrotic amyloidosis. However, when the disease progresses to the stage of renal failure, seriously affecting the size of the kidney, ultrasound gives clear results.
